EMERALD ISLE, NC
"Wow!" It's usually the first word spoken by new customers at Grandma's Toy Box, the only specialty toy store in Emerald Isle, NC. With dozens of hands-on displays and a family-friendly atmosphere, this shop encourages you to spend hours browsing a large selection of toys, games, educational materials, and just plain fun stuff.
"We like to say that our store is the place where Toys and Imagination Meet," says Lee Spell, who founded the shop in 1992 in response to the need for a fun, child-friendly store in her tiny coastal town. Long-time local customers visit the store year-round, but the shop really gets busy during Emerald Isle's beautiful summer season.

In 1998, Lee felt the community might enjoy a sweet treat, so she expanded her toy store to include Poppa's Candy Cupboard which features homemade fudge, Jelly Belly jelly beans, salt-water taffy, and unique kids' candies as well as a selection of sugar-free goodies.
